To market our
products and further advertise our company, we decided to sign up to three
large social network sites, Twitter and YouTube and Blogger.
TWITTER:
The images to the
right are screenshots from our Twitter page. Twitter is a very popular network
site that allows users to post a small status, share images and videos, and tag
their posts (or tweets) with hash tags which other users can use to find your
tweets. Our Silver Studios profile can be seen displaying our small logo image,
a cover image from our Main Task and a small biography section. It is in this
section where we have our company name in bold capitalised text, our names and
the URL to our Blogger page. If we hadn't have edited this, it would have been
left blank, plain and unrecognisable. Any viewers on the page wouldn't know
anything about us or have any clue as to what we do.
Here, we have tweeted (posted) links on our Twitter page to our YouTube
page. The top post shows a link to our new Silver Studious Logo Animation. The
tweet below that shows that we have liked a video named "Scary Chase
Music (Discovery and Flight) by Helmut Hampton" on YouTube. Not only does
this show what we are viewing on YouTube to our users, it tells them what we
are interested about. At the time, we were looking for appropriate music that
we could encorporate into our main task Thriller opening video. This is a good
method to create hype for our products as the viewers and our followers can see
the process of which our products are made. By linking our Twitter page to our
YouTube page we can broaden our company's horizons by marketing and advertising
on multiple online platforms. This tweet shows the link to our Preliminary Task
on our YouTube page. The video window itself is quite small and its description
cannot be seen fully. This is why the "view on web" link is helpful
to us as it entices viewers to travel to our YouTube page for a more full on
and comfortable viewing experience.

YOUTUBE:
YouTube is a video-sharing website on which users can
upload, view and share videos. YouTube displays a wide variety
of user-generated video content, including video clips, TV
clips, and music videos, and amateur content such as video blogging,
short original videos, and educational videos. We decided to create a
YouTube page as it is also a very popular networking site. In addition to this,
it has the editing and uploading capabilities to cope and render video footage
which was perfect for us who would be creating lots of video clips. The
images to the right are screenshots from our Preliminary Task video page on
YouTube. As you can see, the video window is much larger than that seen on the
Twitter page. Here we can see the video title and our small company
identification/logo. This helps us to brand our videos further and the page
allows the users to submit a description. One feature of the YouTube is the
like and view aspects seen on the right hand side on the page. This is good for
us as we can track how many people have watched our product and how many have
liked or disliked it. The feature is particularly good when it comes to getting
audience feedback. In this screenshot, the "About" tab is
highlighted. Here, viewers can see when the video was published and the
description we have attached to our video. In our description we have written a
little bit about the video, linked our Blogger page for our video
evaluation and another of our YouTube videos. By putting links to other videos
in our descriptions, we can encourage viewers to consecutively watch a number
of our videos in one sitting. The comment section allows the viewers of our
videos to express their views and opinions to us. Kindly, a fellow media group
has praised our work here.
Under the
"statistics" tab, we can in more detail track the viewers of our
products. The line graph here shows the progression of our views- on the x
axis, the number of views, on the y axis, the time in which these views have
accumulated. We know from this tab that a total of 12 minutes have been watched
just on this less-than-one-minute video! This screen depicts YouTube's
"share" tab of which we have the option to share the video on other
popular sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Blogger, Reddit, Tumblr and
more. This is how we posted the link for this particular video on our Twitter
page seen above.
BLOGGER:
As you may have seen to the left of this post (and in the image to the
right) we have included links to our Twitter and YouTube pages via buttons.
These buttons consist of the logos of the Twitter and YouTube websites and
a small prompt to view our pages. By doing so, those viewing our Blogger page
who haven't seen our other pages can also check out them out and vice versa. We
decided to use the website logos in the form of buttons instead of long
hyperlinks as they are larger and more aesthetic on our grey/silver themed
page. Our large company logo can be seen on the left with the capitalised and
bold company name at the top of the screen. Our main colour theme, as part of
our identification is grey/silver. Some would say these are boring colours so
we made sure our secondary colours our vibrant and bright. This is why we chose
turquoise blue, purple and green. Our other pages (Twitter and YouTube)
and purely used for further mainstream promotion. It is here on Blogger
where we post all our videos, images and research and is the best way to really
see what goes on within the Silver Studios Company.
