Thriller Conventions- (Representation)

A convention is a way in which something is achieved, in terms of thrillers these conventions can be found in different forms:

- Titles can reflect aspects of the protagonist or antagonists psychological state.
- Themes of identity, mirroring and voyeurism are also used in many thriller films (Alfred Hitchcock's films include many incidents of voyeurism).
- Antagonists often find flaws in the protagonist which will then be exploited by the antagonist at a later time in the film,
- Crime and Murder are themes that have a tenancy to be at the centre of the storyline.
- False paths and clues tend to congregate around a complex narrative pattern which tend to be resolved at the end of the film.
